Green Fuels Under Fire
01/12/2007Biofuels - touted as a 'green' alternative and an important industry of the future in northern Lincolnshire - have been slammed by an environmental expert.
Alistair Macdonald was known for many years as TV's 'Mr Green' and was an award-wining BBC TV reporter and producer, focusing mainly on the environment. He was in northern Lincolnshire to speak at the South Bank Business Network, which met at Forest Pines Hotel, Broughton.
Mr Macdonald said: "Biofuels is an anti-green initiative. The only people it will ultimately affect are the poor, who will face higher costs for food."
