Develop Your Business - Make the Most of the Media
Business development and media training is the core business of the Alexander Macdonald Partnership. A media relations strategy is so much more effective than waiting for journalists to call you. And much cheaper than advertising. We are dedicated to helping you develop your business by actively using TV, radio, print and the Internet.
TV and radio have hundreds of hours of airtime to fill each day. Newspapers have acres of space to fill too. And the Internet knows no boundaries. But journalists are over-stretched by 24-hour news and the constant requirement to update old stories and find new ones.
For any business worth its salt this is a huge opportunity. Journalists are crying out for fresh material and you can answer that call......if you know how.
We will show you how to use the media to raise your company profile and bring in new business.
So why is Alexander Macdonald different? We offer a unique blend of personal business experience, media & journalistic savvy, contacts and training skills.
We know it works.
Solicitor Ann Alexander started her own firm, Alexander Harris, in 1989. She and her partner had £200, a small business loan, a handful of clients but a clear marketing strategy. They decided they would never advertise their services but would use the media to develop their business.
When they merged with the international law firm Irwin Mitchell in 2006 they had 3 offices and over 150 staff. In 17 years they had become the biggest and best-known specialist medical negligence practice in the UK.
Their media strategy was simple:
- To publicise their own cases on TV, radio and in newspapers.
- To become informed observers and commentators on other cases and issues in the news on a daily basis.
- To develop an award-winning website which attracted potential clients and journalists.
Every appearance brought in new business.
Ann Alexander has now joined forces with former award-winning BBC TV reporter and producer Alistair Macdonald who has run his own media training company and consultancy, amtv, since 1989. He has taught directors, partners and senior managers from more than 20 countries and 5 continents how to be better communicators
We can help you develop your business with an inside track knowledge of how journalists work and the stories they need.
